The
Odd Fellows Hall is an attractive and functional building
approximately 8,000 sq ft on two floors - providing unique and multi
purpose user space in the community. The Dawson City Arts Society
(DCAS) and its operating arm, the Klondike Institute of Art and
Culture (KIAC) have endorsed this rental policy based on the following
principles:
-
DCAS/KIAC
programming will have priority use of space.
-
Arts
related non-profit users will be eligible for most preferential
rates.
-
DCAS/KIAC
will not compete directly or unfairly where the private sector
offers comparable space for comparable uses.
- Normally
only upstairs hall space is available for rental use.
|
- Upstairs
rental will include specified use of available space (upstairs
rental will normally include service use of service kitchen).
- Rentals
will normally include approved use of KIAC furniture and equipment.
(eg. 100 stacking chairs, six 30"x72" & six 30"x36"
folding tables, P/A system)
- Use
of additional KIAC furniture and specialized equipment must be
specified and may be charged out (eg. light and sound set up,
tv & vcr, projectors).
- Rental
includes normal janitorial clean up. Extra janitorial costs will
be charged out at KIAC discretion. Users are expected to leave
the building in the same general condition as they found it.
- Liquor
licensing and service arrangements will be subject to KIAC approval.
- Damage
deposits and insurance, if required, will be stipulated.
- Set
up / take down plans will be subject to approval.
- The
Odd Fellows Hall is a non-smoking building.
- DCAS/KIAC
reserves the right to amend and adapt these provisions as required.
A
number of individuals and groups have expressed interest in short
term, drop-in use of KIAC facilities. The following conditions will
apply:
-
Availability
cannot be guaranteed. Usage is subject to "as is"
condition, and specifically approved fees. KIAC programs and
rentals have priority use.
-
One
named individual, with a dependable contact number, must be
responsible for care and control of the facility during the
period of use, including opening and closing of the building
if needed.
-
Any
set up or take down will be the responsibility of the drop-in
individual/group and must be approved by KIAC management. All
damages or costs directly related to user(s) will be their responsibility.
